Refining the style. the character is starting to take more of personality i think. a modern day charlie brown?

new beginning

switching up the drawing style. lil' eyes coming soon. listening to "so far away" by carole king. in that kind of mood these days. this contemplative, introspective, old record kind of mood. i think i ended up hurting someone's feelings these past few weeks. this character exemplifies how i feel.

as well! a fantastic collabo. she also is one of my biggest supporters
and really pushed me to do more drawings. so thank you gayle!!!
the toughest part about this i think is trying to get a narrative
in one small picture.

new series

doing a series of paintings/illustrations on the perception of absence. how sometimes even a second away from someone leaves our whole experience with a person somehow half full. here's #1.

Today's Forecast

Today's forecast is slightly melancholy with a positive outlook. I feel like there is a change in the air. And not just the sun showing itself for the first time.

Thoughts..

sometimes i wonder what people think when they see my drawings. do they look too simple?
are they conveying enough? do people get it? i am drawn to this style for some reason. it makes
things easier to digest. even the harder things in life..

belated valentines

Chris'bday

Today is my friend Christine's birthday. She wanted a minipainting. So i'm going to give her one. i was inspired by a sign at a hardware store that said 'special of the month' and for her birthday, or in love, are we just a flavor of the month? or is there more to it?

day 1.

My first post. This is one of the first drawings that I did in 2005, and really expressed my mood at the time. A feeling of painful happiness. This led to further paintings which i will post later and opened up the little lines to longer lines of poetry.
